Entasi Font

Entasi is a high-contrast display typeface, drawn Greek-first. Heavy stems stand like columns; hairlines run like light between them. A clash of thick and thin that ends in harmony.

Ένταση carries two meanings. Entasis is the subtle swell the ancient Greeks gave their columns, so the eye would read them as perfectly straight. Tension is the pull between two opposing forces.

Most typefaces are drawn for Latin and adapted to Greek. Entasi was drawn the other way around. Its character lives in the Greek letters: the Σ, where thick meets thin at a single point; the Ω, an O floating on a hairline; the small hooked tails of ι, α, τ and π.
